We have been helping since 2009!

Project of a school in Kandy -Sri Lanka Joy Belles - Görtz Meerbusch-Osterrath

Since 2018, we have been supported by the non-profit organization PowerOneForOne Foundation . The Foundation financed a solar system on the roof of the community center to provide electricity there. It also financed solar cookers, school books and food.

We look forward to further help and cooperation in the field of education.

You now also have the chance to send children who would otherwise end up on the streets to school in Sri Lanka!

We invest our time and work free of charge and on a non-profit basis in the maintenance and construction of a future school building in Mahaweli Uyene, outside of Kandy.

With this project we want to help people in great existential need after a natural disaster with floods and heavy rain, but also make a long-term contribution to the fight against poverty and poor education.

Sri Lanka has experienced very heavy rainfall in the recent past, often accompanied by catastrophic flooding. The poorest and most destitute are the first to be affected. This has led to a large number of homeless people.

Since 2009, the Belless-Görtz family has been working with partners from Germany and a local team in Sri Lanka.

and the families are supported so that the families can once again afford the necessary school fees for their children and their food is ensured.

A healthy diet is crucial for children's learning. We ensure that children are provided with nutritious meals every day, giving them the energy and focus they need for their school activities

Parents do not have the opportunity to provide their children with one meal a day.

The school management then takes over the preparation and distribution of the food to the children

This is Chamere, a schoolchild with his single mother. We were able to donate for school fees for 2022 to 2024. We were able to finance the small shop for the mother so that she can earn an independent living.

Sri Lanka is a country of natural beauty, it has an extraordinary biodiversity and valuable resources. In this otherwise rich country, the plantation workers who work as day laborers on the tea, rubber or coconut plantations have an extremely low income which is barely enough to feed a family.

The economic bankruptcy before the change of government at the end of 2024 was catastrophic and plunged the country into another serious crisis with extreme poverty and hunger. 45 percent of the population has to survive on less than $5 a day.

Our strategy is based on transparency, sustainability and direct support for the children. Our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers work hand in hand to ensure that every euro is used effectively

With your donation you make a valuable contribution to enabling children in Sri Lanka to receive an education who would otherwise have no chance.

No salaries or other expenses will be deducted from your donation for the volunteer team. Your support goes directly and immediately to where it is needed. With your donation you are actively contributing to changing people's lives for the better.

We thank you for your support Joy Belless-Görtz

We are developing explosively every day - Check back regularly.

You may be surprised at the charming imperfection of our website. But behind this choice is our philosophy, which sets us from other organizations: We deliberately focus on do-it-yourself, putting every dollar where it's needed most.
Instead of a flawless website, we prefer to invest our resources in projects such as a solar system that we donated to the Living Center: Ida Rieu School of the death and blind in Numaish Karachi.
